Venture 2001 awards for top 10 teams
The top 10 teams in the third and final phase of Venture 2001 have received awards and RM95,000 in prize money for their
winning business plan entries.
Venture 2001's patron Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad presented the prizes to the teams at an awards presentation ceremony on June 28.
eSmart Team, with its business plan titled 'sSmart Systems,' emerged as the first-place winner with its software for booking of tee times at golf courses.
It won RM30,000. ACCELTEAM's business plan in developing and supporting a suite of software that helps companies acquire and retain customers earned them a
second placing and RM20,000. In third place was ZARNET, which developed 'A global Muslim travel alliance' that aims to establish the first Internet Muslim
travel and tours marketplace catering to the specific needs of Muslim Travellers globally. It won RM10,000.
The other seven teams, which won RM5,000 each, were:
k-wurx.com, which developed 'k-wurx.com. Knowledge works in mysterious ways, whenever, wherever!' It is an interactive professional knowledge
commerce portal that provides integrated solutions to the freelance and small office, home office consulting community.
'merimen - portal for the collision-repair industry' by merimen online offers the business enterprises in the automotive collision-repair industry
a platform to communicate, transact, manage and process all motor claims in the Asia Pacific region.
'Orange Internet shop' is an integrated Internet café chain that uses broad-band multiple digital subscriber line technology where customers can buy
broad band Internet access, use Internet phone and pay cash for online shopping.
Team Orenda developed 'The Orenda Server,' a prototype Internet server that promises to cut the cost of acquiring and operating a server by 70 per cent.
Team Visual Edge, with its plan entitled 'Visual Edge Competitive Advantage' aims to be the leader in South East Asia in providing competitive intelligence
information to clients in the consumer goods industry by leveraging on technology and market expertise.
'Document Technology ASP for New Economy Transition' by e-magineer offers document management services ranging from imaging of hard documents to
supporting e-forms.
INOVA Technology's 'Entertainment Services for Mobile Internet' is developing INOVA wireless games, network games that are played via cell phones or other
mobile handheld devices.
